What this is
Clan Wars is a reputation war. Found a clan at a flagpole, fly one of thirty-three flags, and raid other clans to climb the scoreboard.
This is one boosted PvP server on Chernarus, for Xbox. Clans found themselves at a flagpole, take a flag nobody else can fly, and raid each other for points. The top three each week are the Alphas. The top clan at the end of a season is the champion, and is recorded permanently.
Nothing here is decided by an admin. Founding a clan, joining one, raiding, defending, going dormant, losing your flag — every one of those happens because the server log saw you do something in the game. There are no forms and no tickets in the normal life of a clan.
Three places, one job each#
- The game is where anything is earned. A clan, a flag, a base, a raid, a defense — all of it happens at a flagpole with your hands on it.
- dayzclanwars.com is where you manage. Roster, map, vault, directory, stats. The site can never create a clan, claim a flag, or bind a base. It only shows you what the game already proved and lets you handle the chores.
- Discord is where you hear about it. The war log, your clan's private channel, and a DM when something needs you.
The server writes a log, and that log is the only witness. It records every flag raised or lowered and who did it, everyone's position once every five minutes, kills and deaths, connects and disconnects, emotes, and building or dismantling on base parts.
It does not record base damage, loot taken, or what happened in a firefight. Wherever that matters, this guide says so instead of pretending.
What Clan Wars is not#
No currency, no shop, no bank. No territory borders or provinces. No alliances. No admin dashboard. Every one of those was looked at and left out on purpose, because each one either needs a human to run it or turns the game into something other than a war between clans.
Words this guide uses#
The log — the text record the game server writes of what happens in the game. It is the only evidence the system uses.
Linked — your Discord account is tied to your gamertag (chapter 2). Everything requires it.
Raise / lower — putting a flag up on a flagpole, or taking it down. Most of the game's rules are triggered by one of these two actions.
Roster — the list of players in a clan.
Declared base — the one flagpole you have told the system is yours (or your clan's). A declared base is private; every other pole with a flag on it is public once its grace runs out.
Watch zone — the 100 m circle around a declared base. Anything the log sees inside it is reported to the owners.
Grace — the days a pole is kept off the public map before it is published.
Reservation — the 24 hours after a founding claim in which your clan's name, tag and flag are held for you but the clan is not yet active.
Dormant — a clan whose flag has been down too long. It keeps its name, tag and flag but earns nothing and is unranked until a member raises the flag again.
Wipe — a full reset of the game world. A season runs from one wipe to the next.
How to read this guide#
Gold boxes are promises — the rules the system enforces. Grey boxes explain what the log can and cannot see. Red boxes mark the few things that are enforced by people rather than code; there is exactly one chapter of those. The appendix has every number in one table.
